Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

Location and Reporting Structure
Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints and project layout for ongoing construction;
- Measure and cut metal pieces into functional elements that meet the guidelines of the project;
- Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for riveting and welding into place;
- Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging, such as spreader bars, shackles, and other heavy equipment materials;
- Install or fabricate metal pieces into columns, girders, or other structural frameworks;
- Transport heavy metal pieces from the ground level to a higher location using tools like cranes or working with site personnel to help position pieces correctly;
- Repair or replace existing steel parts of buildings and other structures by using industry tools and equipment, such as hand/power tools and welding devices;
- Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition; and
- Adhere to and support B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures.
Desired Competencies and Requirements
- Five (5) years post qualification experience working as an Ironworker, with preference given to those with experience working in a remote mining or construction environment with limited access to resources;
- Interprovincial Red Seal Ironworker or Boilermaker Certification required;
- Proven experience with steel erecting, fabrication, and welding of structural components in a construction environment; and
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of work.
