Job Summary

Justice Services Branch (JSB) is responsible for policy development, law reform and justice transformation in the areas of administrative, civil, criminal, and family law, human rights, and Indigenous justice. JSB also manages the provincial funding of legal aid, provides direct family justice services, and works with administrative tribunals, the courts, the legal professions, other ministries, and a range of community agencies and associations to increase access to justice.
The Project and Service Design Division (PSDD) provides strategic leadership for the planning, Service Design and implementation of business and digital transformation projects and provides project management and Service Design support to all other Divisions. PSDD supports multi-disciplinary sector wide innovation projects that cross organizational boundaries and have a broad scope of impact. The Service Design team works to embed human-centred design across the Division, Branch and sector.
As a recognised expert in research, prototyping, systems thinking and human-centered design, the Service Design Lead provides leadership, expertise and creative solutions to Service Design, user experience design and personalized digital services. This position works with program leads within the Justice sector to define, implement and measure Service Design including policy related Service Design projects.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Inclusive Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Communications or Social Sciences; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related experience and/or education may be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of training and/or experience in utilizing human-centred design methods to design and deliver services including experience in at least one of the following:
    • User research;
    • Content design;
    • Inclusive design;
    • Prototyping;
    • UX design.
  • Experience in long term commitment to delivering service to citizens/customers.
  • Experience in leadership, communications, relationship building, and planning.
  • Experience leading significant change in an organization.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
  • Justice sector experience.
  • Inclusive design experience.
  • Master's degree in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Inclusive Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology, Communications or Social Sciences.
