Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Janitor/Utility include, but are not limited to:
- Snow removal and maintenance of assigned areas
- Removes debris and maintains cleanliness of the site and surrounding area
- Maintains cleanliness of recreation rooms and hallways
- Strip and wax floors as scheduled
- Scrubs boot room/entrance way to remove dirt and washes boot trays, overhead racks, splash guards, doors (inside and out), windows, curtains, ceiling and walls
- Removes/burns garbage and disinfects containers
- Cleans ashtrays daily
- Ensure work areas are safe from hazards
- Report any damage, theft and abandoned articles to the Supervisor
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures by following company safe work practices and standard operating procedures
- Use company motor vehicles as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a janitorial position preferred
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5 year driving abstract
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Current, valid First Aid certification is an asset
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, pull, push, and place objects away weighing up to 50 lbs
