Location: Remote/ Hybrid or Onsite (Charlottetown)

Salary: $39.67 - $49.59 Per Hour

Start Date/Term Length: Commencing Immediatley

About The Position:

The Job Evaluation & CompensationLead will be a trusted partner within Health PEI providing leadership on classification, compensation, and organizational & job design frameworks. The Job Evaluation & CompensationLead will have broad influence over the entire organization and ability to improve service delivery which will translate into improved experiences for all staff. This role will support Health PEI leadership on broad initiatives with a focus on enhancing Job Evaluation processes, compensation, and organization and job design to support business goals. Additionally, the position will work closely with the Public Service Commission (PSC) collaborating in the classification processes serving as Health PEI inhouse expert liaison. The incumbent will thoughtfully focus on improving both the technical and people side of the business. This position will report to Director, Talent Management

Key functions:

· Be thoughtful and strategic with your approach, demonstrate a passion for what you do, and most of all support your team and peers by helping them achieve their potential.

· Responsible to lead the Job Evaluation, compensation, organizational/job design functions within Health PEI ensuring all objectives are achieved, employee value proposition is leveraged, and delivers ongoing positive experiences.

· Establishes clear strategies, priorities, and action plans to achieve desired departmental goals that are aligned with overall organizational objectives.

· Develop customer centric approaches to areas of responsibility which lead to positive client experience outcomes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages organizational wide projects, relating to Job Evaluation, compensation, and organizational/job design initiatives, comprised of cross functional team members.
  • Establishes work and professional development plans, goals, and monitors ongoing performance to ensure key performance indicators (KPI) and objectives are achieved.
  • Monitors progress towards objectives, implements risk mitigation strategies when required to ensure targets are met or reprioritizes where necessary
  • Maintains open lines of communication to the Director, Talent Management, Human Resources (HR), and builds and maintains effective working relationships with leadership, PSC, union partners, and other health authorities to facilitate the exchange of information that supports consistent practices leadership to ensure all parties are kept updated on department initiatives and industry changes.
  • Provides support and advice to leadership on the job design and classification process, developing new or revising existing job descriptions/questionnaires according to current practices, recommending revisions, and assessing the relevance of qualifications related to duties performed
  • Develops and maintains processes to streamline the job design and classification process by identifying opportunities such as the consolidation job descriptions/questionnaires and the ability conduct evaluations based on like positions currently classified.
  • Develops and maintains procedures to ensure that elements of the evaluation standard are consistently applied to job descriptions/questionnaires prior to submission to the PSC for classification
  • Provides consistent interpretation and application of legislation, collective agreements, policies, and procedures relating to Job Evaluation.
  • Leads compensation strategy, research, benchmarking, and industry scans preparing reports, briefing notes, risk assessments and makes recommendations.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate policies, guides, and standard operating procedures to support effective organizational and job design.
  • Provides training to leadership on the Job Evaluation and organizational design processes
  • Ensure large scale strategic projects are effectively managed within defined project management framework.
  • Plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated progressive management and leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience in Job Evaluation/classification or organizational & job design experience.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Human Resources Management and employment legislation, including but not limited to Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation, and PEI Labour Act.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and thrives under continually changing needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with strong analytical skills.
  • High energy and strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $39.67-$49.59 per hour
