JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER / GASFITTER

At this time, we invite applications for the position of:Journeyman Plumber / Gasfitter
7.5 hours per day 12 months per year
EFFECTIVE: Immediately
SHIFT: This position will have the successful applicant working in both Princeton and Merritt. A district vehicle will be available for travel. Exact shift to be determined by Supervisor.
SALARY: $39.11 / hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE:
completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
valid BC Trades Certification as a Plumber/Gasfitter
B.C. Driver's License – class 5 with an exemplary driving record as demonstrated by a current driver's abstract
WHMIS 2015 and familiarity with Work Safe BC safety procedures
EXPERIENCE:
experience working with HVAC systems and DDC’s
Experience gained through Trades Qualification apprenticeship program inclusive of 1 year industry related experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
thorough & current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools & equipment of the trade
ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and gas components and equipment
ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints and clarification of information
ability to use judgment and initiative to identify, adapt and apply procedures
physical capability to perform the job duties and manage time effectively
basic working knowledge of computers
