Journeyman Power Line Technician

Established in 2013, RAHCAR Power Corp. is a growing Alberta company in the Powerline Construction and Maintenance Industry. We are currently recruiting for two highly-motivated individuals to join our team as Journeymen Power Line Technicians, based out of Calgary. Will consider candidates in communities across Southern Alberta.

Responsibilities:

• As a Journeyman Powerline Technician (PLT), you will perform activities related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution infrastructure.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and prints.
• Recognize, assess, and control potentially hazardous situations in the work environment.
• Report near misses and investigate incidents.
• Possess knowledge of industry standard safe working practices.

Requirements:

• Possess a valid Journeyman Power Line Technician Certificate.
• Rubber glove certification and with strong background is an asset.
• Transmission experience is an asset.
• Class 5 drivers license. Class 1 or 3 license is an asset.
• Self‐starter with the ability to work productively and independently of close supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, team participation and communication skills
• Strong distribution operation, construction and maintenance knowledge and skills.
• Must be able to comfortably perform physical tasks (climbing, lifting 50 pounds, pulling cable etc), and work in all weather conditions.
• Comply with company policies to ensure safe and productive completion of the work.
• Experience operating Digger Derricks and Bucket Trucks.
• Willing to work away from home base as required

Salary: $50.00-$60.00 per hour

• Grande Prairie, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Journeyman Power Line Technician Certificate (required)
• Class 1 or 3 License (preferred)
