KEY OBJECTIVES:
Blaster / Painter operates blasting and spray painting equipment to paint or apply other industrial coatings to manufactured items. Blaster / Painter is to complete other duties as directed by their immediate supervisor or Management, and/or as required by the business needs.
- Responsible for delivering and maintaining high standards of work whilst carrying out the duties of this role in line with Company Values to achieve long-term success
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations and that all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with Altrad and Site procedures.
- Ensure all Material Safety Data & Product Data Sheets are adhered to
- Safe use of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and/or Altrad Competency Modules.
- Safely use PPE issued and required for the task.
- Raise any safety concerns and actively participate in safety discussions
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Set up work areas safely and in accordance with the JHA & Risk Assessment.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards at all times.
- Adherence to the Company’s CMS, Policies and Procedures.
- Perform work that complies with the application / erection procedures in place for the task being performed.
- Operate and maintain any equipment required for the task competently and safely
- Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skill or experience.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Journeyperson Ticket – Painter is considered an asset.
- Physical Requirements: Required to be physically fit and able to constantly handle items up to 20Kgs in weight.
- Suitably trained and competent in both Industrial Abrasive Blasting & applications of Protective Coatings.
- Health Safety & Environmental: All staff are to perform their tasks as per current work instructions & training, this is to be done in a in a manner that takes into consideration their own safety, the safety of others, the environment and Altrad's reputation.
- Materials: Handle & utilise Solvent based paint, industrial thinners, and other coatings materials. In accordance with applicable material safety data sheets
- Environment: Able to work in various environments. Be able to work at heights.
- Personal Protection: Able to use Personal protective equipment provided - gloves, PPE (must be clean shaven), ear protection, eye protection, safety boots, high viz, UV, and other PPE as required.
- Training: All staff are to participate in training sessions organized by the Company.
- Medical Assessments: All staff are to partake in medical assessments in line with the current training and assessments agreed upon by the Altrad HSSE department.
- Meeting Attendance: All staff are to attend required meetings, and are encouraged to actively participate within these meetings.
- Prerequisites: Acceptable medical assessment - VOC - Safety Induction – Medical Assessment – Drug & Alcohol

Salary: $26.53-$56.67 per hour
