We are seeking a self-motivated individual with experience in IT Support to join our busy IT Operations department at Trans Power. Reporting to the Manager, IT Service Desk and Deskside Support, you will provide essential workstation support to our support centre staff.

The roles and responsibilities of that of a JR IT Specialist, includes but is not limited to:

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate support activities with vendors and local IT providers.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for head office staff.
  • Handle staging, imaging, and deployment of hardware.
  • Record, track, and escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Set up user accounts and maintain system data across all applications.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and identify trends in incidents and problems.
  • Resolve tasks within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to escalate issues when needed.
  • Provide support for mobile devices.
  • Assist with special projects as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing deskside support.
  • Previous experience in IT service desk or desktop support roles.
  • Proficiency in using and managing Office 365.
  • Strong hardware (desktop/laptop) troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform quick error analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience in enforcing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mentality with a dedication to providing exceptional service.

Job Type:

  • 6-month contract
  • opportunity for extension of contract or permanent position
  • In person, 8 hour shift (8:00 am to 4:00 pm)
