SalaryHickman Automotive Group is looking for a Junior Accountantto join our team at our Hickman Chevrolet Cadillac in St. John's. If you are an energetic and motivated individual, we would love to have you!
The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Vice President of Finance and Comptroller with the operations of the Accounting/Finance Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct monthly bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining general ledgers.
Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Collaborate with senior accounting staff to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus in accounting.
1-3 years experience working in an accounting role.
Task oriented and well-organized.
Capable of effectively managing own time.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Analytical/problem-solving skills.
