The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. It supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services.
The Citizen Centric Program Delivery (CCPD) Branch of the IT Division is looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst for the Enterprise Data Analytics team, who can:
- Administer the enterprise Power BI platform and perform required ongoing maintenance activities.
- Serve as a technical contact from the IT Division on multiple ministry Data Warehouse projects by developing a good understanding of the data structures, data relationships and reporting data models.
- Create and maintain a documentation repository of the scheduled ETL job flows, report runs, and other data processing procedures as needed for future maintenance and support.
- Develop reports and dashboards (as and when needed) using reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and/or IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Develop ETL jobs (as and when needed) as per design provided by the data modeller for loading data into multi-dimensional Star Schema models to facilitate reports and dashboard build.
- Present information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences including executive government.
- Be approachable and flexible in dealing with clients, ITD staff and vendor teams.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through:
- A University degree in computer science and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant data warehousing development or support experience.
- Previous data integration and reporting hands-on experience working with enterprise-class databases, data marts, relational modelling, and data warehouse environments.
