We currently have an opening for a Junior Buyer, who will support our Sales and Operations group.
Job Description
- Review Purchase Orders against quotes and support sales documents for accuracy.
- Check inventory controls and keep track of depleting stock, based on Min/Max quantities.
- Initiate purchase requisitions, correctly using the systems/tools/processes and procedures involved in purchasing transactions as directed.
- Review orders for errors against support documents.
- Compute prices, discounts, and shipping charges accurately.
- Expedite vendor shipments that are delayed.
- Communicate on delayed or changed orders with the account manager, inside salesperson, and customer.
- Assist with training for current or new staff.
- Work with branch staff to improve the understanding involved in sound inventory buying and report repeated non-conformance.
- Monitor and control warranty and non-warranty returns for credit, repair, and replacement. The successful candidate will possess a positive, team-oriented attitude
The ideal candidate will have/be:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or applicable experience and interest in completion of the SCMA Program.
· 1-3 years experience in a related role preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
· General knowledge of database utilization
· Basic knowledge of all areas of procurement, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, offsite supplier quality, and site purchasing preferred
· Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
· Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
· Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
