Junior Counterperson

`Alder Auto Parts, an automotive and industrial parts supplier in the Surrey/Fraser Valley area has an opening for a full-time Junior Counterperson/shipper – receiver in our Aldergrove location. This is a fast-paced environment suitable for a team player who is flexible, organized and has a strong attention to detail.

Job Duties

· Provide counter/telephone sales and exceptional customer service

· Use both computer and paper catalogues to find parts for customers

· Promote parts sales by suggesting related items

· Determine correct parts numbers and “pick” parts for orders received

· Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required

· Help maintain orderly parts stock, assist with putting away incoming orders on occasion

· Other duties as required

· Assist the shipper receiver

Requirements

· Experience in a parts-related role, ideally in a light industrial or automotive environment

· Strong computer skills

· Must possess a valid BC drivers’ license

· Exceptional customer service and troubleshooting skills

· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision

· Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a strong attention to detail

· Able to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times

· Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions

· Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

· Weight handling of up to 50 lbs. required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
