Job Information
Located at Thebacha Campus in Fort Smith, the Junior Information Technology Technician (Jr. IT Tech) reports to the Information Technology Analyst, and supports Aurora College students by providing tier 1 help desk support by answering questions and training related to information systems, student and staff accounts and network infrastructure access. The Jr. IT Tech works closely with other IT Technicians and IT Analysts to escalate incidents and resolve technical issues.
The Jr. IT Tech provides support related to network infrastructure connectivity, navigation of and access to the information systems, email system, licensed software, and other technology critical to the operations, including audio/video conferencing and reprography technical support. You are also responsible for creating training tools and providing training for students and staff related to hardware/software use, account access and security.
The Jr. IT Tech experiences constant interruptions and the competing demands of multiple individuals require balancing workload with differing levels of priority and urgency. Users can become agitated, angry, or frustrated with information concerning their access to Aurora College Information Technology infrastructure and/or software.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, and six (6) months of experience.
