Junior Purchaser

Trans Canada Safety, a leader in fire and safety equipment sales and service, we are searching for an individual who is eager to learn and has the drive to succeed with a growing business. RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the senior purchaser, duties include but are not limited to:

-preparing accurate and complete purchase orders for all goods, materials and supplies. - Work closely with each Division managing their orders, ensuring that purchases are recorded and submitted in a timely manner. - Handle all inquires and follow up’s on outstanding orders. -Research and gathering of information on new items. -Work with freight carriers, obtaining quotes, scheduling of incoming and outgoing shipments, and tracking orders in transit. -Creation and inputting of all new product codes into database. -Maintain and manage inventory levels.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGES

• Candidates will have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with suppliers, transportation and key customer contacts.
• Have efficient interpersonal skills, be organized and be a team player
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Experience with MS Office 365 and prior use or knowledge of Quickbooks will be considered an asset.

The ideal candidate does not require experience in purchasing BUT needs to bring the enthusiasm and willingness to learn this challenging position.
