Junior Sales Agronomist

About us

Holmes Agro is a crop inputs supplier that has three locations in Ontario (Orangeville, Redickville and Stayner). We are dedicated to providing quality service, products and agronomic information in the area of crop inputs while being committed to developing, implementing and demonstrating sutainable farming practices to help reduce envrionmental impacts in our community.

Responsibilities:
-Advance your customer service skills by working directly with customers in our office, while learning about Holmes Agro and the products/services we offer
- Support operational activities in one of our warehouses throughout the spring (fertilizer, seed, or crop protection)
- participate in crop scouting and Intergrated Pest Management efforts through growing season for row crops and horticulural crops
- Particpate in soil and tissue sampling
- Shadow senior agronomy staff on customer visits to learn how we position agronomic tools to maximize customer crop performance
- Develop crop plans and agronomic solutions using our MyFarm database
- Promot Holmes Agro and the products/services we offer our customers
- Support stewardship efforts such as 4R, Percision Agriculture, Pest Assessments and Accurate Record Keeping

Qualifications:
- A positive, team first attitude, a dedication to personal improvement and skill development
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectivley with customers and other team members
- Willingness to work seasonal long hours in spring and fall
- Agronomic knowledge and a passion for agriculture
- Willing to work towards atttaining your CCA (having one would be considered an asset)

Salary: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Class G Licence (preferred)
