The Position

With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.

As a member of the Engineering Team as an Database Administrator, you will work with a variety of disciplines including (L&SE) program (to support On-Orbit Space Station activities), and/or Gateway External Robotics System, and/or planetary/lunar rovers, and/or R&D activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate updates and changes with the database between different disciplines within electrical engineering
  • Verify the electrical component properties from the datasheet against the database information
  • Improve, maintain and perform optimizations of the database information and files associated with the database
  • Standardization of the database information and validation the correct information is translated into design
  • Act as the liaison between departments for database related business processes and improvements
  • Maintain and upgrade schematics, PCB and BOM templates
  • Perform Spice simulations and maintain the code within the database
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of schematic symbols and PCB Footprints
  • Good understanding of IEEE-313 & IEC-60617
  • Familiar with IPC-7351B
  • Provide technical support to users of the database

Assets:

  1. Knowledge of Electrical CAD design process (e.g. OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent)
  2. Knowledge of space sector
  3. Experience with MS Excel, MS Visio
  4. Experience with large file management/database related work
  5. Experience with programming languages such as Python
  6. Organized and attention to detail

Requirements:

Electrical Technologist diploma (or equivalent) is required. Candidates will be assessed for the Junior / Intermediate / Technologist level based on years of experience.

The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment.
