Small restaurant in Beaumont looking to hire a Kitchen Assistant.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the supervisor
Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
Package take-out food
Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
Remove kitchen garbage and trash
Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors

Qualifications
Food Safety Certificate
Safe Food Handling certificate
Serving It Right Certificate
Fluency in Vietnamese is strongly encouraged
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Cooking: 1 year (required)
Language:
- Vietnamese (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (required)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
