Kitchen Equipment Sanitation Technician

BReD is a 100% plant-based organic sourdough bread shop in the heart of Whistler Creekside, on the shared unceded territory of the Squamish nation and Lil’wat nation, one minute away from the gondola. We need strong team players to work in a dynamic environment and join us in our mission to deliver the most sustainable food and beverage offerings in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Kitchen Equipment Sanitation Technicians to join our crew. This could be a great opportunity for a second-language speaker.

This position's shifts are

on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays 10AM till 6:30PM, and Sundays 9AM till 5:30PM

You will need to:

· Clean and sanitize the kitchen throughout the shift include sweeping, mopping floors, wiping counter tops, and emptying garbage/recycling bins.

· Keep baking equipment/dishes (trays, bowls, utensils etc.) clean throughout your shift following cleaning and sanitation procedures.

· Assist with basic food preparation.

· Help unload deliveries and put stock away.

· Report any safety issues with equipment to a manager.

· We are a small team that works together so you may be required to assist other departments as needed.

· Always show up on time, in clean and appropriate attire, and adhere to our grooming policy.

Our kitchen is 100% devoid of animal products and we do not do any frying. This means that the dish station duties are mainly spraying dough out of tubs and bowls, with very little scrubbing required. In comparison with typical restaurants, this is a NICER than a regular dishwashing job!

You will need to:

· Have your own accommodation in Whistler and permission to work in Canada until at least the end of May 2024.

· Have some experience of working in a kitchen.

· Be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.

· Be able to frequently lift and carry items greater than 35-50 pounds.

We can offer you:

·Free baked good/bread and coffee per shift and 25% staff discount when you are not working, or on retail goods.

· Equal share of tips split between staff (around $8 per hour) and a starting wage more than 20% above minimum wage

Salary: $20 per hour (approx. $27 with tips)
