Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher

Prep COOK / Dishwasher required for busy lakefront pub and grill located in Balfour, near Nelson B.C. * Staff accommodation possible. * Summer and shoulder seasonal position. High School and college students encouraged to apply. Previous experience preferred but not required.

• MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN CANADA - a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or hold a current visa.

• $18.00 to $24.00 hourly (integrated tip system) depending on experience and performance
• Casual and Part time available - flexible hours can be arranged

• Part time during school can lead to full time in summer, extended employment after summer may be available
• Evenings, weekends and holidays
• Cold side line cooking - mostly pizza, salad, dessert & sandwich prep
• Dishwashing in a fast-paced environment
• Prep work: meat slicing, portioning, salad and vegetable chopping, setting up station, assisting with other prep
• Cleaning & sanitizing are a big part of the job
• Some record keeping

Qualifications:

• 1 or more years of kitchen experience preferred but willing to train
• Familiar with cold side line cooking (salads, bun prep, pizza prep, desserts), dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing, mopping floors
• Familiar with food prep (portioning, chopping, slicing) and station prep
• Safety conscious
• Clean and organized, energetic and hard working
• Work well independently
• Able to take direction, follow procedure, follow recipes and work well as part of a team
• Relevant training gives you an edge
• Must be eligible to work in Canada (current visa, permanent resident or citizen)
