Kitchen Opener

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Opener. As the first person in the kitchen each day, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our kitchen operations start smoothly and efficiently. The Kitchen Opener will be responsible for preparing the kitchen for daily operations, including setting up equipment, stocking ingredients, and ensuring cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities:

• Opening Procedures: Arrive promptly to start the opening procedures, including unlocking doors, turning on equipment, and setting up workstations.
• Preparation: Prepare ingredients and food items needed for the day's menu, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces etc.
• Stock Management: Check inventory levels of ingredients and supplies and restock as necessary to ensure smooth operations throughout the day.
• Sanitation: Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures at all times, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning of work areas.
• Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including storage areas, refrigerators, and prep stations.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management regarding any issues or needs that arise during the opening process.

Requirements:

• Previous Experience: Prior experience working in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of opening procedures.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food preparation and inventory management.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
• Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work early morning shifts and weekends as needed.
• Food Safety Certification: Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
