Welcome! Banff Park Lodge Collection of Hotels operates 3 hotel properties - Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites - and 2 restaurants - La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill - all with an ideal location, steps away from lively downtown Banff on one side and from the peaceful Bow River on the other.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Continuously prioritize guests' needs and provide a memorable dining experience which exceeds the guest’s expectations.
  • Must be familiar with, and train staff on, safety and security procedures (refer to in-house emergency procedures and WHMIS fact sheet).
  • Maintain an efficient and profitable operation of La Terrazza and room service.
  • Report for shift on time, with a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Maximize revenue while controlling expenses, focusing on labor and F & B costs.
  • Personnel matters such as staff training, corrective discipline as required, and maintaining a positive and productive team atmosphere.
  • Maintain a positive restaurant appearance/environment by ensuring clean and organized guest and work spaces and by reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Prove efficient leadership skills through leading by example, offering "hands-on" assistance as necessary, and preparing operational budgets
  • POS
  • >> Familiar with all front of the house LightSpeed functions
  • >> Change floor equipment when required
  • >> Report problems immediately to Director of Food & Beverage or Chef.
  • Supplies / Stock
  • >> Inventory and order any required supplies to ensure smooth operation (food, china, glassware, flatware, etc)
  • >> Purchase orders to be approved by Director of F&B and GM (refer to attached procedure).
  • Menu planning
  • >> Consistently familiar with food & beverage trends (internally and externally)
  • >> Actively promote products, services and specialty events (internally and externally)
  • >> Continually propose and implement new ideas for specialty events and opportunities for increasing revenue.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years previous Food and Beverage managerial experience required
  • Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale System required
  • A dynamic leader with strong organizational skills and passion for Food & Beverage
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • Displays high initiative and requires minimal supervision and direction
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a definite team player
  • Food Safe, Pro Serve and First Aid Certification, Train the Trainer is an asset
  • Sommelier designation an asset
  • Lightspeed POS and Avanti Time & Attendance experience is an asset
  • Constant walking and standing throughout shift
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
