REPORTS TO: QA Manager
LOCATION: Annacis Island
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team! Our Quality Assurance Technician will help us ensure the fast and accurate handling of documents and products/material tests to support the quality team.

The QA Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that raw material, raw product and finished product is inspected and released in time and that non-conforming product disposition is handled in an efficient manner.
Here are the Job responsibilities
Sample Collection and Preparation:
- Collect samples of raw materials, WIP, and Finished products.
- Prepare samples for testing according to procedures.
Testing and Analysis:
- Perform routine tests such as total solids, butterfat, pH, organoleptic evaluation.
- Prepare media for microbial testing.
- Conduct microbial testing.
- Utilize lab equipment and instrumentation for accurate and reliable results.
- Perform CIP chemical testing to verify the effectiveness of cleanliness.
- Conduct allergen testing to ensure products meet specified allergen control measures.
- Perform environmental testing.
Documentation:
- Record test results accurately and maintain detailed documentation.
- Prepare and maintain COA.
Calibration and Maintenance:
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Perform routine maintenance for laboratory equipment.
Batch Processing: Issue raw batches formula for processing.
Compliance and Regulatory:
- Follow GMP and food safety procedures.
- Abide by health and safety regulations.
Communication: Communicate effectively with Production, Warehouse and Management regarding food safety and quality issues and corrective actions.

Knowledge & skills
· You have a working knowledge of CFIA standards
· You understand HACCP concepts and processes (training in HACCP)
· You have intermediate level Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
Experience
· You have a Degree/Diploma in Food Science/Food Technology or related discipline
· You have experience working in a similar capacity, preferably in a food production facility or a food testing lab
Nice-to-Have
· You have experience troubleshooting complex QA issues

Salary: $36.23 per hour
