Labourer - Maintenance Operations (RFT)
The incumbent will:
- Assist in the repair, inspections, and maintenance of water, sewer, and road systems
- Operate tandem and single axle vehicles to perform winter maintenance activities
- Perform shift, standby duty, and overtime work with an ability to respond quickly to afterhours emergency work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Applicants will:
- Have a Grade 12 diploma
- Have a valid Ontario Class 'D' Licence with 'Z' endorsement
- Have previous experience working with the various installation, maintenance and repair procedures for the roads water and sewer systems including winter maintenance activities
- The ability to maintain neat and accurate records
- The ability to deal effectively with the public and to work co-operatively with co-workers
- Be capable of heavy lifting, bending, and twisting
For Regular Full-Time positions: Candidates who do not possess a Class I Water Distribution Certificate and a Class I Wastewater Collection Licence are eligible to apply but must write and pass the required Level 1 exams within 1 year of the date of hire.
