Hours of Work: 40 hour work week, usual core hours are 7:30 – 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required to perform priority maintenance tasks and to attend emergency calls.
This is a unionized position.

The Town of Plympton-Wyoming is comprised of lakefront, agricultural, and urban properties, offering a wide range of facilities and services to provide its residents with a comfortable community in which to live and to work.
We are a community with a population of 8,393, located within the north central portion of Lambton County in Southwestern Ontario. Fronting on the shores of Lake Huron, Plympton-Wyoming boasts accessibility to Highway 402 for convenient travel to Sarnia, London, Toronto, and the U.S.A.
Position Overview
The full-time positions will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity for qualified and experienced operators within the Public Works Department as a Park and Recreation Labourer and Roads/Water Meter Reader Labourer.
Qualifications
- Class DZ drivers license minimum
- Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At a minimum, the applicant must be able to demonstrate that they are skilled in the operation of:
- Lawn mowers, roadside mowing equipment and general grounds maintenance
- Chainsaws and tree maintenance equipment
- Compactors, concrete/asphalt saws and general construction equipment
- Drills and other power or hand tools owned or rented by the Town
- Electronic devices such as a smart phone or tablet.
- Experience in a similar or related field
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation/codes/acts
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Knowledge and skill in heavy construction equipment operation is preferred
