Land Code Manager
Deadline: Position Open Until Filled
Job Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Administrator, the incumbent is responsible for managing the
‘Namgis Land Code office and on-going administration of the ‘Namgis Land Code, including a lands
registry, that will regulate land use to serve the best interests of ‘Namgis First Nation. The Land Code
Manager is also responsible for the oversight and management of the Public Works and Housing
departments.
Job Duties:
Committee
- Develop a multi-year strategic plan as well as an annual work plan that aligns with ‘Namgis
- Develop, negotiate and process land lease agreements, subleases, permits, licenses, allotments,
- Provide informed advice and recommendations to support decision-making on lands and land
Committee
- Responsible for the administrative and operational oversight of Public Works and Housing to
- Develop and implement the annual budget and monitor same to ensure compliance
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the membership, ‘Namgis staff and
Job Qualifications:
experience
- Post-secondary degree or certificate program in land/resources management, community
experience
- Minimum 5 years’ direct experience working with First Nations in a senior capacity
- Demonstrated communication skills, verbal and written
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft applications, working knowledge of database software
