Land Surveyor Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A JBF Surveyor Assistant will be part of a survey crew that conducts land surveys (on a new site everyday) throughout the Peterborough County and surrounding area.

Main Activities:

· Operate various survey instruments. (i.e. total stations, data collectors, GPS rovers etc.)

· Assist the Field Crew Chief (digging, cutting brush, carrying gear 50lbs +/- etc.)

· Conduct work activities in all types of terrain (i.e. urban [high traffic intersections, construction sites], rural [farmlands] and remote locations [deep woods] etc.)

· Attention to detail and focusing on the task at hand is essential.

· Ability to work under various weather conditions with a fast paced, busy day to day tempo (this is a year round position)

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years field experience (required)

· Post secondary education in (geomatics, civil engineering etc.) (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
