To plan and oversee urban development in order to provide citizens with a quality of life based on environmental, social, cultural, and economic sustainability.
Responsibilities and goals associated with the positionReporting to the Manager – Special Projects, the jobholder analyzes Special Projects (SPAIP, demolition, conditional uses, etc.) as well as those related to the redevelopment of Pointe-Claire and formulates recommendations. He or she carries out research, planning and analysis for the projects submitted based on the City of Pointe-Claire’s development vision and Planning Program.
The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows:
- Guides and supports citizens during the various steps of the process for submitting, reviewing and implementing a discretionary special project in accordance with existing laws and by-laws.
- Receives and analyzes development projects (residential, commercial, industrial, mixed, institutional, community, municipal, etc.).
- Designs and develops visual tools for the presentation and analysis of the projects received for various related committees (PAC, demolition, etc.).
- Participates in the presentation of planning files during working committee meetings and public consultations.
- Participates in developing or producing technical and supporting documents for the purposes of modifying, reviewing and implementing the planning program.
- Submits recommendations on a variety of subjects such as redevelopment, heritage, sustainable development, etc.
- Coordinates his or her work and offers professional expertise to other municipal departments.
- Participates in writing reports, draft by-laws, municipal agreements, etc.
- Performs all other related tasks.
