Job Profile
The Laundry Attendant maintains or exceeds Delta standards including taking ownership of laundry cleaning standards at the heart of hotel guest operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sorting linens, towels, clothing and other laundry items by color, size and material.
- Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests.
- Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
- Cleaning stains with care following property specified procedures for all laundry items.
- Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment.
- Unloading laundry from commercial dryers.
- Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener.
- Cleaning and emptying lint filters, report issues if required.
- Understands how to utilize various pieces of laundry equipment effectively.
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.'
Qualifications
- Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hrs).
- Lots of repetitive upper body movement.
- Must be able to learn quickly and work with little supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal.
- Possess good attention to detail and have strong organizational skills.
- Open availability as shifts may be scheduled throughout the day and evening as needed.
- Must be willing to work in Kamloops, BC
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Working conditions
- Fast-paced environment.
- Warm environment due to the constant running of the washers and dryers.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Shifts can vary day or evening based on business needs.
Physical requirements
- Ability to pull, push, reach, bend, stoop, kneel and frequently lift to 20 pounds.
