Reporting to the Construction Manager the Lead Carpenter will be responsible for overall on-site technical management on residential construction project sites. Your a proven mentor, and always willing to jump on the tools.

Responsibilities:

· The ability to read and understand construction documents including drawings and specifications.

Mentorship and hands on training of field team, including apprentice carpenters and laborer's.

· Two week look ahead schedule meticulously planned with the project coordinator; schedule trades and organize each site to ensure trades are set up for success.

· Onsite inspections.

· General knowledge of residential Mechanical & Structural systems.

· Comfortable talking to customers and solving problems that occur on job sites.

· Self-starter and can work with minimal supervision.

· Supervise laborers, apprentice carpenters, and subcontractors.

· Communicate daily updates to the Construction Manager.

· As required on site, perform tasks including but not limited to Demolition, Rough Framing, and Finish Carpentry.

· Ensure jobsite safety, protection and maintenance of company tools, and enforce all job site rules.

· Investigate any warranty issues

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in Residential Renovations or new home construction a Journeyman Ticket is a strong asset.

· Must own some basic personal tools including but not limited to: fully stocked tool belt, cordless and impact drills, skill saw, reciprocating saw and levels.

· Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation.

· Standard first aid w/CPR certification.

· Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities - Physically demanding; bending, crouching, kneeling and lifting.
