Job Summary

The RBC Bank US Engineering team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to grow and lead with expertise in CI/CD and Service Management. you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our software delivery pipelines, ensuring system reliability, monitoring, and improving overall service quality.
You will be part of the DevOps engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices, optimize development workflows, and ensure the reliability and scalability of software applications in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What is the opportunity?

The RBC Bank US Engineering team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to mature and lead with expertise in CI/CD and Service Management. you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our software delivery pipelines, ensuring system reliability, monitoring, and improving overall service quality.

You will be part of the DevOps engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices, optimize development workflows, and ensure the reliability and scalability of software applications in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What will you do?

  • Work on internal/ External facing applications targeted towards developers across the organization.
  • Build and configure pipelines that would help app teams build and deploy cloud native applications.
  • Help design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve application services.
  • Integrate with third party APIs and create scalable applications.
  • Partner with other teams to understand user needs and contribute to delivering solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Create and maintain technical systems documentation and write concise, well-organized code and sensible tests.
  • Work on release management including creating change requests with ServiceNow.
  • Work closely with multiple teams to successfully deploy the application.
  • Implement end-to-end monitoring.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • 3+ years of experience working with the CI/CD and monitoring tools i.e. GitHub actions, Jenkins, Circle CI, Splunk, Grafana, data dog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics and building custom pipelines etc.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience working with docker and Kubernetes (Azure, OpenShift/AWS).
  • 3+ years of development experience with object-oriented programming (java/groovy/python/Shell scripting), microservices architecture, Spring Framework, Maven, etc.
  • Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting REST APIs
  • Hands on experience in certificate management.
  • Experience with multi-threading, scaling, concurrency, caching, queuing, and distributed data storage
  • Experience with message brokers (Rabbitmq, Kafka etc.) ,SQL(Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Mongodb, Elastic etc.)

Nice to have

  • Experience working as a technical lead
  • Interest and ability to work with new tools and tech stacks
  • Experience working in an agile environment, GitHub actions and workflow development
  • Experience with building apps with Angular TS/JS, with security tools and compliance best practices
  • Perform production support role, including off-hours support.
