Role overview
Insurance API & Batches team is growing. We are accountable for all APIs and Batch processes that supports Guidewire ecosystem. We are responsible for project delivery and production availability of these assets. This is an exciting time to join the team as we set our roadmap for these assets and ensure they are ready to support the growing Insurance business.
What you’ll do
· Manage cross -functional team of IT professionals to support assigned business clients / internal partners / stakeholder needs and requirements.
· Responsible for project delivery for the set of application in their scope, commissioning projects to be executed by Tech PMs
· Establish day to day management direction and define priorities and strategies consistent with the business goals and aligned to overall direction from Technology Leadership team for own area.
· Develop impact assessments and manage assigned portfolio delivery schedule and periodically perform risk assessments to manage operational processes consistent across the portfolio (e.g. time reporting)
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of assigned business and bank technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications, platforms, services) and managing people / projects.
• Knowledgeable of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects with increasing degree of complexity and broad scope (e.g., multi-function within line of business)
What you bring to the role
• 7+ years of relevant experience with JavaEE frameworks
• Cloud Technologies (i.e., Azure, AWS)
• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
• Experience with Web Application Design/Development - JSP, XML, XSL, Java Script, Single-page-applications, AngularJS, Node.js, RWD, HTML 5
• Experience with JavaEE frameworks (i.e., Spring, Struts)
• Experience with Tomcat, WebSphere (7+), JBoss runtime environments
• Experience with Web Services Design/Development - SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB2, JAX-RS, REST, Web API
• Unix shell scripting (i.e., Bash, Korn), Cloudify, TOSCA Blueprints, Batch Scheduler like Autosys
• Experience with Agile delivery methodology, particularly Scrum or a derivation (e.g., Product Backlog Definition, User Stories Estimation and Prioritization methodologies, Task Breakdown, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospective), and related tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA)
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery methodologies and tooling (e.g., Maven, Nexus, Jenkins)
• Experience with IBM Rational Application Developer 8+, Eclipse 4.4+, GIT (Stash), Bitbucket
• Relational DBMS proficiency (i.e., Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2)
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and related query languages

Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this hybrid position requires two days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON.
