Cross Canada Millwright is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team.
The primary focus of this role will be to do our in-house machining as well as our field machining. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of rotating equipment repair, excellent technical skills, and strong business acumen. Responsibilities:
· Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines.
· Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
· Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
· Select appropriate machines and settings for a given task.
· Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
· Monitor production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
· Maintain inventory of completed products.
· Check output for quality assurance and documents or discard defects.
· Identify the need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
· Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications: - To be eligible for this position, you must have a journey-person certification in the Machinist trade. Additionally, you should have at least 7 years of extensive experience in machining. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MANUAL MACHINES AS WELL AS CNC. You must also have a proven track record of successful employment, excellent technical skills in repairing rotating equipment and machining with precision and accuracy, and exceptional problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Preference will be given to those with field machining experience and or Machinist/Millwright dual ticketed. This is an ideal position for Individuals who wish to become dual-ticketed as well.
You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Furthermore, you should be proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools. It is mandatory to know industry regulations and safety standards.
It is essential to have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel occasionally, roughly 50% of the time. We offer a competitive salary based on experience and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a full-time position located in Leduc.
