As the Lead, New Product Strategy & Planning (NPP) you will lead the cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, Access, Commercial, Comms & Patient engagement) and are accountable for the development of pre-launch strategies for pipeline products (-4 to -2 years) in order to fully maximize the launch performance across the IM portfolio.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Cross-functionally establish pre-launch strategy for new product/new indication;
  • Understand customers, market and data to build market differentiation required for the successful commercialization and reimbursement of new products.
  • Identify Heath Care System gap and define solutions required and access shaping initiatives to optimize brand access.
  • Map stakeholder, manage relationships to develop advocacy for product endorsement at launch.
  • Lead the plan including evidence generation, pricing, reimbursement, and market access to secure timely listing on provincial, federal, and private formularies.
  • Translate key insights from scientific experts, internal data and market trends into clear, actionable strategies for the asset.
  • Develop and maintain solid relations and interactions with cross-functional teams to ensure launch plans are embedded and aligned with the disease area and brand strategy.
  • Coordinates high quality analyses and assessment of the clinical / PE evidence used in support of brand reimbursement and develops strategic recommendations such as evidence generation, on how to close the most important gaps with data generation, development trials and interactions with key external stakeholders.
  • In partnership with the NCP team, ensure provincial healthcare infrastructure requirements, commercial partnerships are aligned with the disease area/molecule strategy.
  • Develop scenarios based on FIR read-outs & update sales forecasts, sensitivity analysis and actively contribute to the Portfolio Review governance.
  • Develop and maintain solid relations and interactions with cross-functional teams (i.e. Franchise Therapeutic Area Commercial Director, Medical, Regulatory, NCP, Access, Comms, Patient Engagement) to ensure launch plans are embedded and aligned with the disease area and brand strategy.
  • Responsible for budget planning and tracking.
  • Ensure launch readiness/transfer to franchise processes is consistent across the business and that best practices are shared and applied across launch teams.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • University degree in business, economics, or life sciences, Graduate degree in business or clinical science an asset. 7-10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry (preferably in Marketing, Product Launches) in access, medical or commercial functions.
  • Experience in managing successful launches (preferably specialty and oncology markets) & experience in Forecasting, Market Research
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within matrix and complex environments & ability to effectively manage and execute complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Knowledge of Canadian Healthcare and Reimbursement System and Health Policy
  • English (French an asset)
