As a Leader Departmental Coordination, you will oversee management activities related to sustaining business operations across Planning and Development Services department. You will also be responsible for providing the Senior Management Team with reliable information and recommendations impacting departmental budgets, staffing, and workspace. Primary duties include:

  • Lead departmental space initiatives and renovation projects.
  • Manage all amendments to departmental fee schedules across fee-supported services.
  • Manage a departmental centralized budget and oversee accounts payable workflow and approvals.
  • Oversee appropriate business continuity preparation annually.
  • Articulate and provide analysis of budgeted, projected, and actual spending for department.
  • Coordinate workforce management activities on behalf of Planning & Development Services Senior management.
  • Oversee coordination of departmental programs, such as safety, parking, wellness, and departmental recognition efforts.
 
Qualifications 
  • A degree in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, Finance, Design, Planning, Political Science, or related disciplines and at least 10 years of progressively senior or diverse work experience, including at least 2 years' experience leading and supervising a team. OR
  • A Graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related filed and at least 8 years of progressively senior or diverse work experience, including at least 2 years' experience leading and supervising a team.
  • Advanced capability in Microsoft excels, PowerPoint and outlook is required.
  • An Accounting designation is considered an asset.
  • To be successful in this position, you must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking abilities.

Compensation: Level E $83,059 - $125,413 per annum (2024 Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
