Providing leadership in a time of organizational and technical change, this position will require a leader that will work with the existing management to champion ongoing change in both Geospatial technologies and organizational culture. Someone who is not afraid to take risks and redesign the way the division provides services to internal and external clients. A person who is passionate about creating a leading edge, collaborative organization that can quickly and effectively produce excellent results for all of its clients. Primary duties include:

  • Provide operation and strategic leadership for the Water Geospatial Asset Design section of Collaboration, Analytics and Innovation.

  • Provide leadership on Water Designas-built inclusive of feedermain design; main replacement circulation book; main replacement drafting; valve and hydrant cards; anode retrofit program; block profile conversions including the management of designs-built records.

  • Provide leadership providing GIS Mapping/Customized presentation drawings/graphics products and support.

  • Manage wasteWater Designas-built inclusive of storm and sanitary contracts; laterals; drainage complaints; site works; circulation and special projects including the management of designas-built records.


 
 
Qualifications 
  • The successful applicant will possess one of the following combinations of related education and experience:
  • A degree in Business, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering (Civil or Municipal) or other related field with at least 8 years experience in an engineering graphics technology/geospatial mapping work environment; OR 
  • A completed 2 year Diploma in a geospatial-related program plus at least 10 years experience in an engineering graphics technology / geospatial work environment, five years of which was in a leadership role. 

  • Success in this position requires experience with GIS, CAD and other geospatial asset management and drafting systems, asset management: spatial data acquisition, design and integration, land and infrastructure development and experience in the public sector.
  • In addition, knowledge of records management and familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Public Service Employee Relations Act and general accounting principles would be considered assets.
  • You have strong political acumen, analytical skills, superior communication skills and the ability to create and execute a strategic vision and direction.
  • You will have demonstrated success in building, developing and leading strong teams, leading and managing change, and establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
