Licensed Practical Nurse (Lpn)

Responsibilities

• Resident checks and rounds (including, but not limited to vitals, breathing, incontinent round, safety rounds, narcotic, and charting)

• Medication administration (includes processing Doctor's orders)

• Resident personal care (includes feeding/assistance, bowel care, dressing, wound care, and blood work)

• Resident, family, and staff support (includes addressing questions and concerns, and assisting other workers)

• General duties and administration (include mail, paperwork, ordering supplies, assigning duties)

• Completes other tasks and duties as assigned Hours/Shifts:

Full Time and Part Time (Various shifts)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses

• Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Nova Scotia

• Current basic CPR

• Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties

• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis

• Previous experience in gerontological nursing an asset

• Leadership /Charge experience preferred

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting

• Knowledge of / experience with a team-based person-centered care approach

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team

Salary: $50.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bridgewater, NS B4V 1A1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (preferred)
• LPN/RPN (preferred)
• Nursing (preferred)
• CPR Certification (preferred)
