Lifeguard & Swim Instructor

Part Time, Earn $17.00 per hour

Downtown Community Hub, 301 Vaughan Street
Are you passionate about water safety? Do you think learning to swim is a critical life
skill? Does the flexibility to work around school and life or the opportunity to add summer

hours sound good to you? As part of the Y team you will play an important role ensuring

the safety of our pool patrons and/or teaching kids to swim!

Are you the right fit?

• Able to engage, motivate, encourage and guide members

• Able to build positive relationships with members, staff and volunteers

• Ability to deal with challenging situations
  

What else do you need?

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification or Aquatic Emergency Care

• Ability to obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification

• Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry

• NL certification

Asset: LSI (Lifesaving Instructor)

Swim Instructor

• Bronze Cross or Higher

• YMCA Swim (YSI) or Water Safety

(WSI) Instructor or Swim For Life
Instructor (SFL)

Asset: LSI (Lifesaving Instructor)
