The Grand River Family is made up of the Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS), Grand River Raceway (GRRC) and The GrandWay Events Centre.

In 2021 we opened The GrandWay Events Centre, where we welcome Corporate and Wedding guests all year round, and Race guests June through September.

We have exciting opportunities to support our Event and Racing operations:

LINE EVENT/COOKS

The Line Cooks will be responsible for the preparation of high-quality North American Cuisine to support The GrandWay. The Line Cooks will work as a supportive team member in a high energy, friendly workplace while following all safety and sanitary procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows portion controls, and presentation specifications as set.
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
• Prepare all grilled items using flat top grill.
• Prepare food using the commercial fryer.
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
• Assist in banquet preparations when required and assist with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Food Handlers Certification a must
• minimum of 2 years prior kitchen Line Cook experience
• knowledge of kitchen equipment such commercial fryer, deep fryer, convection oven and BBQ
• Enthusiastically work with co-workers in a cooperative and supportive manner
• Proactive and highly motivated
• Available to work noon to late evening, weekends and holidays with flexible work schedules

Salary: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
