The Sherlock Holmes Hospitality Group has openings at our U of A location for dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Staff who are creative, hardworking and self-motivated. The ideal candidate must possess minimum one years' experience and a solid record of good performance.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Responsible for preparing and cooking all food items by the recipe and to specification
- Must be able to work past midnight or early mornings
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions very well
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of meats, vegetables, soups and other food items using a full range of cooking methods
- Able to organize the assigned work area and efficiently put away orders
- Ensure that all products are stored properly in the correct location at the appropriate levels at all times
- Responsible to maintain cleanliness, sanitation at the assigned work area
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Professional Skills
- Knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils – ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Preparing Food – excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Efficiency and speed – ensure the objectives of the station are met properly while ensuring high-quality food standards
- Organization – ensure the right tools, appliances and ingredients are ready anytime needed
- Knowledge of health and safety code and protocol
