Lineman/woman

UDI Cable Services is a leading telecommunication contracting company based in Ottawa specializing in utility construction serving eastern Ontario.

For over 40 years, UDI Cable Services has established a reputation for delivering outstanding service and performance to our clients.

As our company expands we are looking to fill positions for Aerial Lineman.

Qualified individuals should meet the following

• Previous experience in a similar role would be an asset.
• A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record is required to operate company vehicles and equipment.
• High School Diploma
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates
• Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet.
• Work well within a team environment and also self-motivated enough to perform on their own
• Be reliable, and hard working.
• Have a great attitude and work ethic.
• Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to safely lift heavy objects, tools, and ladders (30-70 pounds)

Responsibilities:

• Read and understand blueprints or job specific instructions and execute all work assigned tasks safely and in accordance with UDI Cable Services Health & Safety Policy.
• Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fibre optic telecommunications cables.
• Climb poles, ladders, and a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatus.
• String cables between structures, manholes, from poles, towers, or trenches and ensure that all are to proper tension.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory personnel and communicate issues or expected delays.
• Perform other duties and tasks and requested or required.

Salary: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
