The Fort Vermilion School Division prioritizes student improvement in literacy skills across all content areas. To implement strategies to strengthen and develop student skills, the division will be employing a Literacy Coordinator for each individual school in the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The coordinators will be responsible for delivering literacy professional development within the School Division. Duties: Provide Literacy workshops Provide in-class demonstrations and coaching Develop professional development modelsRequired Qualifications: Be in possession of, or eligible for, an Alberta teaching certificate Have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience The ability to work in a team environment and take direction The ability to travel and demonstrate flexibility of schedule The ability to facilitate Literacy professional development Deep understanding of Literacy AssessmentsPreferred Qualifications: Experienced in facilitating professional development to teachers Previous instructional leadership experience Completed or working on a Master's program in Curriculum/Instruction/LiteracyOur School Division: FVSD serves approximately 4,000 students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds in fifteen well-equipped, safe, and caring schools and a Home Education Center, all located in several Northwest Alberta communities.
