A Load Builder is required to utilize a forklift equipped to move materials around the yard and assemble advanced or specialized customer/contractor orders. Advanced orders are based on quantity and variety of products as well as customer specifications/preferences. Other responsibilities include the loading and unloading of trucks, supporting control with inventory documentation and full adherence to safety compliance regulations.

- Provide first class customer service by assisting contractors/customers find product and recommend product
- Prepares specialized orders for delivery including identifying, locating and securing material as per shipping paperwork and customer specifications
- Operates forklift, consistently practicing safe operating habits to load and unload vehicles, transport material and prepare loads for delivery
- Performs routine and regular preventative maintenance of vehicle advising supervisor of required repairs. Complete forklift inspection sheet daily
- Builds and arranges customer orders and loads onto vehicle giving consideration to safety/security of load, minimizing potential for damage in transport, order of use by customer and routing of vehicle
- Receives returned material and returns material to stock as directed
- Checks prepared loads for accuracy and completeness and takes the required measure to correct as needed.
- Maintains excellent housekeeping of the yard, sheds, special order area and ensures product is accessible for customers
- Supports inventory control with accurate documentation and proper reporting of damaged product
- Operates the Saw to cut wood upon receipt of certification when directed
- Ensure all products leaving the yard have been invoiced
- Able to count product accurately, use measuring tape when necessary
- Be knowledgeable about all products stored in the yard
- Be familiar with the grades, dimensions and species of lumber stocked in the yard
- Ensure safety of customers and fellow associates
- Keep the work area clean and tidy
- Comply with policies and procedures regarding loss prevention, breakage of goods and health and safety
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
