Job description

This position's main role as a logistics and Moving Associate at Charlotte Interiors, is to bring staging furniture and items, from one place to another and help assemble or de-assemble as needed. The associate will also sometimes work for the design side, moving boxes of furnishings, assembling those items and disposing of the garbage. The associate is responsible for ensuring that the furnishings that they move make it to the destination without getting damaged, for storing furnishings properly and without damage and for keeping track of their inventory to ensure that nothing gets left behind or misplaced during the moves.

To qualify for the role of the associate, an individual needs a clean driving record and previous driving experience with a cube truck, and they need to be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects (50lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.

The key to doing well in this role is being flexible, professional, taking direction well, and owning responsibility. This position also requires some furniture assembly and maintenance periodically required; experience is a bonus but not required.

Logistics & Moving Associate Responsibilities:

  • Wrap furniture and items in protective material
  • Prepare items for packing and moving from staging lists
  • Move items safely from one location to another
  • Set up the items in their new location
  • Ensure that no items are damaged during the moves that you work on
  • Safely, properly and efficiently store all staging items in the warehouse
  • Fix and repair any broken furnishings
  • Clean and maintain all staging furnishings
  • Keep the warehouse and storage areas clean so that our furnishings stay as clean as possible
  • Keep the truck clean so that furnishings stay as clean as possible during all transportation
  • Remove all garbage from warehouse
  • Assemble furniture
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects repeatedly
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract
  • Physically fit
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not required

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $20.00 per hour
