About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location
Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
Purpose
Reporting to the Lead Logistics Planner, this role will develop all logistics planning and scheduling activity inclusive of quality management and assurance in the planning and scheduling timeframe. The Logistics Planner optimizes plans and schedules to supply product from Jansen to market which minimize cost, manage inventory, and meet customer requirements.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
  • Perform Shipment planning to ensure utilization of available capacity at lowest logistics cost
  • Conduct rail planning to ensure shipping demand is met and inventories are managed within operating window limits
  • Support the delivery of Logistics Planning and Scheduling activity
  • Contribute to the aggregation and consolidation of the Operations shipping and rail schedules into an integrated Asset level forecast in 1SAP
  • Develop the implementation and monitors effectiveness of Planning improvement initiatives with support from Integrated Planning and Analysis & Improvement
  • Perform capacity planning of rail, port and US distribution providers
  • Provide input into long-term planning (RDP, Life of Asset, 5 year plan, 2 year budget and short range forecast)
  • Liaise with supply chain stakeholders to ensure shipping demand can be fulfilled, inventories managed
  • Chair weekly meetings to review schedules and participate in monthly planning meetings
  • Represent BHP Potash in external supply chain planning forums as required
  • Develop operating strategies for the supply chain in support of the integrated plan
  • Communication of plans to Potash supply chain stakeholders including marketing, operations, rail operators, US distribution terminals, and ports
About You
  • Establishes and maintains networks and effective communication channels
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Action-orientated and able to contribute to the problem solving process through cross-functional groups and teams.
  • SAP competency in Supply Chain Management an advantage
  • Knowledge of regulated rail access processes and rail haulage requirements
  • Knowledge of bulk shipping practices and requirements
  • 5-7 years relevant experience within supply chain management, port and rail logistics
