Long Combination Vehicle (Class 1) Driver (6month Contract)

Terminal: Edmonton
Delivery Route: Edmonton to Calgary Rounder
Monday to Friday

Shift Start: 19: 30PM to 5:00AM
Overtime pay

What you will do:

• Drive a Long Combination Vehicle truck from Edmonton to Calgary and back
• Deliver products in good condition and within scheduled time
• Back up and park Tractor Trailer at Terminal loading dock
• Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
• Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
• Report on all safety hazards and accidents
• Use a cellular phone to communicate with Dispatch, Lead Hand and Manager ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc….
• Build strong client relationships
• Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
• Additional duties as required

What we require of you:

• High School Diploma
• Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver's License (LCV) is a must
• Experience as a Line Haul Driver is an asset
• Possess a Clean Commercial Driver's Abstract
• Minimum 5 years LCV Commercial highway driving experience
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
• Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
• Adaptable to change
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
• Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
• Ability to work on a team and being a team player
• Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
• Must have a safety and compliance mind set
