Frozen solid services clients across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, We provide temperature-controlled distribution and warehousing of fresh, frozen, and dry products from our Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge locations. Our team ensures each customer receives high-quality, reliable, timely deliveries and superior customer service.
At this time, we are looking to hire a professional, committed Class 1 highway truck driver based out of Calgary for full-time employment. We are a safety-oriented company with strict safety protocols in place for all our drivers. Our fleet is well-maintained and cleaned on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will hold a valid Class 1 license with a minimum of 2 years of Class 1 driving experience and a clean 5-year commercial driving abstract. Job duties include loading vehicles, abiding by traffic laws, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at the destination of loading.
Skills and Qualifications
- A valid Class 1 driver’s license.
- Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as food or dry products.
- Familiarity with using navigation systems.
- Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
- Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving.
- Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
Education and Experience Requirements
- minimum 3 years of mountain driving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record.
- No DUI convictions in the past seven years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicating with dispatchers, drivers, and other team members to make deliveries.
- Meeting delivery deadlines.
- Performing basic truck maintenance.
- Tracking shipments and deliveries.
- Obtaining client or customer signatures when needed.
- Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers.
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
- Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
- Other related duties as requested.
Salary and Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $.60 - $.70 per mile with 2 weeks’ vacation and an Employee Health Benefits plan.
