Purpose
We are seeking an eager and energetic Long Hole Driller Trainee with a positive attitude to join our Long Hole Drilling team and develop their skills and knowledge to contribute to our ongoing development and growth.
Responsibilities
- Train to operate Long Hole drill efficiently and accurately to drill production holes, slot raises, drop raises, etc.
- Assist operators to complete other production tasks (hole cleaning, loading, blasting, etc.) as required
- Take direction from Production and/or Underground Supervisors in a respectful manner
- Inspect and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
- Other duties that may be required
Requirements
- 1 – 3 years of underground mining experience and/or previous experience operating heavy machinery
- Previous experience in drilling, loading, and blasting is beneficial
- Basic understanding of how to read, understand, and follow engineering prints
- Possess Ontario Basic Common Core
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Current and valid Driver’s License preferred
- A high level of flexibility to adapt to changes as necessitated by the business
- Possess effective communication skills and be a collaborative team member
Working Conditions
The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.
