Duties:
- Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers.
- Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers.
- Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
- Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise.
- Escort trespassers out of the client premises.
- Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise
- Detect and prevent people to commit theft and fraud against retail stores and facilitate their civil and criminal prosecution, if needed (Incident reports, report to police, attend court and testify, as required)
- Acknowledge and greet customers.
- Work alongside our Loss Prevention Investigators to identify, report and file external incidents with law enforcement.
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises
- conduct surveillance to detect any suspicious activities
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or incidents on the property
- Enforce access control procedures and verify the identity of individuals entering or exiting the premises
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities
Requirements:
- MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION
- VALID ONTARIO SECURITY LICENSE
- VALID EMERGENCY FIRST AID & CPR CERTIFICATION
- Access to vehicle and transportation is needed.
- Prior Loss Prevention Officer is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to respond well to emergency situations
- Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours
