What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
-Supervises a team of store investigators who conduct investigations into external theft and fraud, and includes overseeing all scheduling, labor allocation, payroll, and time & attendance.

-Trains, develops, and assesses Store Investigators to achieve the best results possible. Supports leadership with developing bench-strength for the Loss Prevention department
-Supervises Store Investigators effectively to produce the high-productivity and high-quality results needed to reduce and prevent shrink. Ensures that the execution of the external theft Loss Prevention program, is consistently efficient, productive, and ethically
adherence with national LP policies, programs, and processes.
-Partners with Analytics team to attain data needed to ensure LP Investigations resources, are allocated appropriately for maximum impact, and assists the with identifying and implementing opportunities for continued training, learning, and development within the team
-Works closely with Store Management teams to obtain feedback and insight on Loss Prevention practices and programs within the stores to identify and implement improvements.
-Ensures Investigators maintain statistical database of apprehensions and external issues, and coordinate dissemination of appropriate intelligence to LP partners and Stores
-Responsible for generating monthly statistical KPI reporting to identify trends and provide insights to leadership and Field LP partners utilizing Power BI and other tools.
-Responsible for ongoing communication and reporting with the Investigations Manager and Manager of Investigations, and other stakeholders on all key matters related to Store investigation activities
Ensures adherence to national policies, programs, and processes
-Leverage analytics, including Power BI and the Home Office LP team, as well as partner with DLPMs to identify emerging threats and develop a strategy to address activity (blitzes, awareness strategies etc.).
-Validate and acknowledge SLPs submissions in Resolver and monitor quality of report writing coaching where necessary.
-Review video and statements after all use of force incidents and coach/performance Manage as required. Escalate incidents where protocol was not followed to appropriate Investigations Manager in partnership with HRBP.
-Builds and maintains partnerships with other members of Loss Prevention, Store Management, and external agencies.
-Partner with HRBP to ensure all team members are supported and develop an individual plan following any significant incidents that may impact Associate wellness (EAP, Market Considerations, Scheduling Support etc.)
-Partners regularly with DLPMs to actively seek feedback regarding effective use of resources within stores/districts.
-Partner with ORCS in area of responsibility to ensure effective scheduling and coverage strategies.
-Partners with direct Manager and HRBP to support civil suits.

-Sets goals, expectations, reviews performance, ensures development plans are in place for all team members
-Validate and track team training activities ensuring all team members have received required training including but not limited to Maybo Verbal De-escalation, Investigator Safety and Use of Force, Advanced Report Writing, Internals 101, Mobile Surveillance Training (ORC), OSINT (ORC) etc.
 
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

-Minimum five (5) years of retail investigations experience with minimum two (2) years management / supervisory experience; post-secondary education in related field considered an asset
-A provincial security license is required to be employed in this position (some provinces). As required by law, the applicant must be currently licensed under the applicable provincial statute and regulation prior to commencement of employment. Maintaining that license is also a requirement of employment if it is legally required
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching; with ability to influence business partners to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor; bilingualism (English/French) an asset
-Strong investigative methodologies and experience with
analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to
make effective decisions; demonstrated flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs of the business, and changing priorities
-Knowledge of the global and national retail landscape and market trends to support the development of future strategies; solid understanding of business tools and reports to make business recommendations
-Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
-Demonstrates management skills including organizational, negotiating, listening, conflict management and information gathering skills. Demonstrated solid people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to Associates in the resolution of problem.

-Strong technical aptitude and willingness to use of relevant technologies.
