Lumber Yard Associate – Keewatin Branch

The Lumber Yard Associate will handle, move, load and unload materials by hand or using a variety of material handling equipment. As a valuable member of our team your duties will also include:

• Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment
• Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
• Ensure customer orders are accurately filled and loaded in a manner that suits space requirements and eliminates any damage to merchandise
• Pick and stage orders for delivery or pickup as per direction by the manager
• Guides customers through their purchase process in a friendly and knowledgeable manner
• Assists with delivering merchandise to destination following safe job site procedures
• Performs general yard cleanup and maintenance as required, including restacking lumber piles and rotating to reduce cull lumber

The successful candidate will:

• Show a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Be physically able to repeatedly lift/carry materials weighing up to and over 50lbs
• The ability to work in a team environment is essential
• Previous lumber and or retail experience is preferred
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Must enjoy a fast-paced environment
• Comply with all company policies and procedures including the Health and Safety program
